The Yorktown Lady Tigers got off to a quick start and cruised to a 56-42 championship game victory over Delta on Monday evening. Yorktown opened the game by taking a 24-10 first quarter lead. Delta made a third quarter run thanks to strong play by Samantha Warpool, who finished with 11 points, but Yorktown proved to be too much for the Lady Eagles to handle. Jill Hopper led Yorktown with 23 points and eight rebounds and Molly Beard added 13 points and four assists. Yorktown took great care of the basketball, only turning it over four times while dishing out 17 assists. Here is a box score from the game.
