Staff Report

Hoosier
Heritage teams proved again in regional competition why they are among the
elite in Indiana. In all, conference teams advanced 35 wrestlers to semi-state
competition with one regional left to be held after the time of this writing.
The league has crowned 12 regional champions.

As expected,
Yorktown led the way. The Tigers advanced 12 wrestlers to next Saturday and
claimed seven regional titles at Jay County. Delta qualified only one wrestler
but he won the championship in his weight class.

Four HHC
schools competed in the tough Perry Meridian Regional and all did quite well
thank you. New Palestine led the contingent by qualifying nine wrestlers to the
next round. Greenfield-Central moved three grapplers along and claimed one
title while Mt. Vernon advanced three without a championship. Finally,
Shelbyville advanced two to semi-state.

Pendleton
Heights hosted its own regional. The Arabians fared well in a very tough field.
They advanced five wrestlers while crowning two champions.
